Awesome weekend

We really had an awesome weekend - but we deserved it! Last weekend (and all of last week) I didn't post anything because Duane was really sick. He started with a cold and it quickly turned into bronchitis and borderline pnuemonia. Last Monday Olivia had a check-up appointment (she's 20lbs and 27"!!!) so Duane tagged onto her appointment and saw our doctor. Our doctor prescribed him a Z-pack and an inhaler; he went home and took a nap and started the meds. When Liv and I got home that night around 6pm, Duane asked me to look at his tongue - it was swollen about 2xs the normal size and he said his throat felt really tight. SO, off we went to the ER! He was having an allergic reaction to the inhaler. He didn't look better after 2 hours of an IV so they made him stay overnight. Thankfully, when he was released the next morning, he was feeling much better. Talk about a crazy night!

This past Friday night, Olivia went to her first baseball game - the St. Paul Saints. They're a "wanna be" (minor league) team but their games can be fun. Unfortunately, it was so hot that night and there was no breeze so we left around the 2nd inning.

Yesterday we stayed at home and got some things done - i.e. went through Duane's clothes, grocery run, etc. The best part, though, is Duane and I had a date night! Our babysitter, Katie, came in the early evening and we went out for dinner and a movie. Olivia does really well with Katie so we love having her babysit for us!

Today was all about White Bear Lake! Olivia is seriously the best baby EVER! We headed out around 9:30am and left the lake at 3:30pm and she was perfect. She is content with sitting on the floor and playing with the toys we bring along. Around lunch time, we laid her down and with a little help from a running motor and a pacifier, she fell asleep. Once she woke up, she had some lunch (turkey and cheese sandwich!) and then it was time to "swim." She sat in her float and watched Duane and some fellow boaters throw a frisbee around. By the time we were trailer-ing the boat, she was asleep.

She's not crying - she got sunscreen in her eyes....

Tonight we had spaghetti and gave some to Liv for the first time. This is the first time she's had ground beef with her noodles - it was hilarious! She was promptly put into the tub after she finished her dinner. Oh, and as soon as she sees a camera, she's all smiles!

A couple pictures I forgot to post from her first boating weekend

She really loves sitting in this float and looking around - it's so cute!

First time on White Bear Lake

We finally made it out on our boat today! While we were having lunch outside, we noticed some blue skies to the west so we rushed home and packed up for the lake. Olivia did really, really well and seemed to enjoy herself. The skies were cloudy until we left, then it cleared up but it was okay that way. She spent her day in her birthday suit and it gave us a really good laugh. We hope to head out again tomorrow!

Just dropped our anchor for the day

"Hey boys!!!"

Look at that gut....wait, look at that butt....not sure what's funnier!
Seconds after Duane started up the boat to head back, Olivia fell asleep in my arms. I laid her down when we cleaned up to head home and then she woke up from her power nap - she was exhausted!

Liv's crawling debut

Liv's new tricks

Olivia has so many new tricks - she can sit up from laying on her stomach, she waves and she's CRAWLING!!! Today when I went to her room at daycare over lunch, they informed me that she had chicken nuggets, beets and peaches (which she fed to herself) - as they're telling me this, she crawled toward me! It was a little too much - I had a hard time taking it all in!

She LOVES going after Sadie - that's dangerous for all parties involved!
Yesterday she fell asleep sitting up - she can sit up but she's not quite sure how to lay back down. She slept this way for her entire nap!

4th of July weekend

Hello again after a long break in posts! The last week of June was busy with trying to get Olivia healthy - she had another double ear infection. She was running a fever with that so she had to stay home from daycare - it may have been a good thing, though, because that week, hand/foot & mouth broke out among the infants! Thursday night, June 30, the three of us headed out for Ferdinand. Duane did all the driving and 12 hours later we rolled into my mom and dad's driveway. While Duane napped, Olivia, me and my parents headed to Patoka Lake for an afternoon in the sun. This was Liv's first time boating and she did so well! We even had her in the water in a float with a "blue yummy!" (Busch Light for non-Dubois county people)

Friday night was dinner at the Meyer's and Olivia got to see her Grandma and Grandpa Meyer, Aunt Andrea and her little cousin Jack. She didn't last too long, though, after her afternoon on the lake.

Saturday morning we all took Potter family pictures at the Ferdinand State Forest. Stay tuned for those! After pictures were taken, Olivia met her Great-Grandma Potter - she thought Olivia was cute and kept saying so! I'm glad she was able to see Liv again! Saturday on the lake was a different story for Liv - she didn't seem to enjoy herself too much. While my parents stayed on the lake for the fireworks, the three of us headed back and had a relaxing evening at home. We were all in bed before fireworks had even started!

Sunday it was back to Patoka. A storm rolled through so we spent most of the day hanging around the marina but it worked out just fine. We did get out on the lake later and Olivia enjoyed that.

Monday we headed to Granola Town (Bloomington) to see Alex and Giesla's new house - it's so nice!!! We had lunch and just hung out. Liv showed off her new trick - crawling! Before we headed out for St. Paul, Alex lit fireworks so Olivia wouldn't miss any on her first 4th of July. It was such a great trip home!
