At the closing, we met the sellers and we couldn't be more relieved with it all. They were an incredibly nice couple and it was a pretty emotional morning. They were the original owners and raised their family in the house. We promised to make them proud and that we would take good care of the house.
Duane and I went straight to the house and started unpacking while we waited for our cleaning crew to arrive. While the cleaning was being done, we went back home and loaded up again. We unpacked until it was time to get Liv. She has been complaining for a couple nights that her ears hurt so we ran to Target clinic after dinner. She is on an antibiotic for an ear infection.
Saturday morning Duane and I loaded up the U-Haul and off we went! Olivia didn't have a very good day at all so neither did we, considering we were trying to unpack while managing her. Today we thankfully (a HUGE thank-you to Joel Bodkin) had some help and Duane was able to get a lot of the big items moved. Thank you Joel Bodkin - we literally couldn't have done it without you!!!
Olivia seems to like the house and she didn't want to leave today - which is a good sign! Duane and Olivia will head back to the neighborhood on Tuesday for a neighborhood get-together but I'll be in Chicago for work. Our hope is to be sleeping in the house by next weekend!!!
