"Spring" visit from the Potter family

In the early morning hours on Saturday, March 22, my parents and Alex and Giesla rolled into Apple Valley. They made the trek through the night hours and it was a relief to see them arrive safely! They barely had a chance to see our house and then Olivia was asking Alex and GG if they would watch FROZEN with her. My dad took a short nap while the rest of us sat around and talked. Giesla had a demand that we eat at Punch but that wasn't too difficult at all - I think we could eat there every week. Giesla picked up a pizza to go and then we headed to Trader Joe's for more essentials.

Sunday was a lazy start but we all ended up having lunch at the MOA and then walking around. Olivia was so tired she actually fell asleep on Duane after lunch! (Little did we know, another ear infection was brewing...) Dinner on Sunday was a smorgasbord of leftovers and some amazing homemade guac by Alex.

Monday morning we were all ready to go at a decent time and headed to the Como Zoo. It was a not-so-nice weather day but at least the snowflakes falling were nice and fluffy!

After the zoo, Alex and GG headed out into the elements for a long run - they made it a little over 12 miles! While Liv napped, my parents watched some TV and then Duane and I test drove a car for me. I've ordered my first, brand-new car! For some reason, I'm drawn to station wagons and the only all-wheel drive wagon made is the Subaru Outback (well, Audi makes one, too but those are too expensive....or so says Duane). While I'm not crazy about driving a Boob-aru, it's a nice looking car. We all then had dinner at Brasa and headed home so everyone could get a good night's rest before their drive. Olivia was also melting down as her ear infection became more prominent and painful.

We had a really lovely weekend and are so thankful to my parents and Alex and Giesla for taking off time from work to come up to cold Minnesota!
