May update

May was yet another busy month for us up here in Minnesota! Olivia started soccer and Duane was her team's coach! It was quite an intense "soccer season" with practices/games 2 times every week and for an hour each time. We had barely enough time to get home from work, eat a quick dinner and then it was off to the field. Olivia enjoyed it but never really became very competitive or serious. We're pretty sure her favorite part was the juice box and snack after each practice. She was always excited to go, though, and loved running around the field so that's a success!

Olivia and Duane's biggest fans
There were a few times that I was traveling so Duane really had his hands full with both girls and coaching soccer! Annie went along for the ride in the Bjorn and loved it. Duane said she was squealing and screaming at all of the kids while he ran around with her on his chest. Olivia was a big help and gave Annie her bottle one night. It was so great receiving this picture in a text!

For Mother's Day weekend, the girls and I flew back to Indiana for a long weekend. It was so, so, so much fun! I was nervous to fly with them by myself but both were great. Olivia's only time with the iPad is on an airplane so you better believe she was on her best behavior. Annie nursed and napped - story of her life. My parents picked us up at Louisville and before we knew it, it was morning time and we were heading to Patoka. We didn't slow down a second!

We're ready!

Olivia had her Papa busy!

after the lake, it was camping time

Patoka, Ferdinand State Forest, Patoka, Ferdinand State Forest - busy, busy, busy! Alex and Giesla came down on Sunday and also took Monday off work to spend with us. We had such a great time with everyone and it was a great Mother's Day!

Olivia exhausted after the days boating and camping

Annie's exhausted, too (probably from all the crying at night she was doing.....)

Bonus day in Ferdinand, out for a walk
Delta decided to have some mechanical issues on the morning of our departure so we were given a bonus day back in Ferdinand. My dad had to come back to the airport to pick us up and then we went back to my parents' house. When my mom came home from work, we all went for a walk up to the convent. The next day we flew out and made it safely back to Minneapolis.

Annie turned 5 months on May 15! Her sleeping was slightly (emphasis on slightly) improving toward the end of the month so that was a little ray of sunshine. We can't complain about anything else, though - she's the sweetest thing and has a smile for anyone (and sometimes anything!) One of the cutest things is the smile she gets on her face with she sees our family picture in the family room - she almost laughs out loud at it!

With hopes of helping her sleep better, we decided to introduce rice cereal toward the end of the month. She did okay with it but never really loved it. We all had fun with her first bite of "food!"
