Saturday morning I took Duane to the airport and he headed back to Ferdinand for a bachelor party. My parents, Liv and I held down the fort. My Dad turned himself into Edward Scissorhands and completely transformed our yard! I'm serious - there were leaves, limbs and weeds flying around him all day. We had dinner at our house on the patio and we were all in bed early.
Sunday morning we headed to the MN Zoo! Saturday was so hot but Sunday turned out to be pretty cool. We really had a nice morning walking around and then had some lunch. One of the funniest things from the day was hearing Liv singing, "Chicken nuggets....chicken nuggets" under her breath as we walked through the chicken coop!
We left the zoo in time to head home for Liv's afternoon nap....too bad mommy threw her keys in her purse, which was in the trunk?! Thankfully, we live super close to the zoo so my Dad literally ran back to our house, got another set of keys, jumped in Duane's truck and drove back to us. Oops! We all headed to the airport around 6pm and picked up Duane. We celebrated having him back in town with Punch Pizza and fro-yo!
Monday was Labor Day and we were all so glad to have another day at home. Unfortunately, the weather was super cool so we spent most of the day indoors. LIv and my mom played for what seemed like hours so I was able to catch up some things.
My parents flew home early Tuesday morning and just like that, we were back into our routine. I can't believe how quickly the weekend was over but it sure was fun! I know my parents really appreciated having a bedroom and they own bathroom this time! (Sorry but I'm leaving out a lot of details as I'm several weeks behind, due to an Internet issue...thankfully it's resolved and we're back online in the house!)
