Awesome weekend

We had such a great weekend! Brian and Stephanie drove to MN from Indy and spent the weekend with us. The original idea was for them to come up and spend the weekend out on the boat with us but for some reason, it's not quite summer yet here in MN. We still haven't had our boat out on the lake yet - seriously?!

Anyway, Friday we went out for pizza and ice cream. Duane built a fire in our smoker and the four of us sat outside and had some drinks and caught up. On Saturday, Steph and I went out for some retail therapy and the guys went golfing. Saturday night Duane grilled and then we had smores over our smoker fire. Duane and Brian found some new smores marshmallows and were really enthralled with them. Sunday morning we all had breakfast together and then they hit the road again. This week will be short for us as we get ready to head home to IN for the 4th of July!

Liv's new ride

Check out Olivia's new ride! Don't worry, we're getting her a helmet but Duane couldn't wait to take her for her first spin. He plans to take her into work some days on the bike...the ladies at daycare will get quite a surprise when Olivia's daddy comes strutting into her room in all spandex...

Happy Father's Day

Last Friday, there was a picnic for Father's Day at New Horizon (Liv's daycare). They had sandwiches for those who can eat sandwiches and Olivia gave Duane her gift. It was a frame with her handprint. Here is a picture of the two of them - we couldn't get Liv to look at the camera, though.

Mini Roadtrip to Chicago

A couple weekends ago, the three of us took a mini roadtrip to Chicago for a wedding. We stopped along the way in IL and had lunch "Potter style." This means that I made lunch and we ate at a rest stop - something my family used to do on summer vacations. It was nice to get out of the car and be in some fresh air!

We were able to stop in Tinley Park and visit the Szafranski family. It was great to see them and we really enjoyed the meal Juje cooked for us! After our visit, we headed to our hotel where Grandma and Grandpa Potter were practically falling over themselves to see Olivia.

On Saturday, my parents went into the city and the three of us lounged around the hotel. I laid out for about an hour and then we brought Olivia out to the pool. She didn't seem to enjoy it too much, though...

Olivia slept through the wedding but spent her Saturday night with Grandma and Grandpa Potter. Thanks again to them for watching her for us! Sunday we were up early (thanks to Liv) and drove back to St. Paul.
