Our Father's Day weekend was busy but it sure was great! Friday started off the weekend well with the annual New Horizon Father's Day picnic. Duane drove allllll the way over from Minnetonka for the delicious turkey sandwich and carrot stick lunch. The sun was shining and it was a great time!
We spent that evening frantically cleaning our house. For one, my cleaning lady couldn't make it for her normal time so I had to do a once-over of the house. Secondly, we were meeting our realtor on Saturday to look at some homes and for her to look at ours. We needed to make sure it was tidy and ready for judgmental eyes.
Are you confused yet? We are outgrowing our tiny but lovely home and ready for something bigger. We also wanted to solidify ourselves in a better school district for the future. So, our serious house-hunting began Father's Day weekend. We focused on search on a St. Paul suburb of Eagan. Saturday morning and into early afternoon, we saw 4 houses and then called it a day. Olivia just made it through without a breakdown and when we got home, decided she'd rather nap than have lunch. Okay! We met Jaron & Crystal in the evening for dinner and then played cards with them at our house.
Sunday was Duane's day! Olivia and I gave him a hand-made beer carrier and cards. He started his day by smoking a brisket. The weather was absolutely beautiful so we were outside as much as possible! Olivia played in her pool and then we had a "picnic" at lunch. (In case you're wondering, Liv has a swimsuit, I was just too lazy to put one on her so we settled for her undies.)
Duane's brisket was ah-mazing and we all stuffed ourselves. I made Nutella pie for Duane and Liv almost fell over when she found out what dessert was. She loves it so much she literally licks the plate clean.
Happy (belated) Father's Day to all the wonderful men out there! To the wonderful man in Olivia's and my life - we love you and appreciate you more than you'll ever know!
