Easter weekend fun

Happy Easter! Wow - what a FANTASTIC weekend we had! Thankfully, Olivia was feeling much, much better. Thursday afternoon we took Liv to the doctor and learned she had Fifth's disease. To top off the night, though, we all went to the airport to surprise my mom when she landed. She thought Liv would be sleeping but we left the house a little early so she could run around baggage claim and greet Grandma Potter. She waved and smiled when my mom came down the escalator and I'm pretty sure everyone in the area was smiling at her (and my mom's) reaction to the greeting.

Friday morning started out with a bang - a visit to the MN Zoo! Even though the zoo was busy, Liv and my mom kept up with each other and ran around to all the animals.

Penguins - who doesn't love this part of the zoo?

Since being sick, we have been trying to get Liv to drink a lot of water. She wouldn't drink the water I brought so I knew that if I presented it in a different bottle, she'd drink some. I dumped out the "fruit juice" that came in the bottle and filled it with water. Before we left the zoo, she had 1 down and was on her second bottle of water! We had some fruit and cheese bread before hitting up the gift shop.

Notice the pink dinosaur bottle? Souvenir #1...
My mom decided Olivia needed a penguin to remember this trip and she loved it! On our way out of the zoo, she was tightly clutching her swag from her day at the zoo.

We were 6 minutes down the road and Liv was fast alseep. We put her back to bed once we returned home and after some time, she fell back asleep. Mom and I had lunch and then sat outside and talked until she woke up. We walked down to a nearby park and before we knew it, it was 5pm. Dinner was at Donnatelli's in White Bear Lake and Liv was a little bratty. She isn't as easy to take out to restaurants and this just recently started with her. She is fine to sit if there is food immediately available, but that's never the case. Once the food arrived, we were able to have dinner and relax for a bit. My mom was annoyed with how quickly we eat now but hey, you have to adjust when there's a toddler involved! They don't quite understand how nice it is to sit and enjoy your food and drinks.

Saturday we ran some errands and then my mom and I went shopping - minus Liv. The weather was terrible until late in the afternoon. We had Easter dinner on Saturday night and Olivia was in rare form!

We had plans to do an Easter morning breakfast all dressed up and looking nice but Liv had other ideas. Trying to get her in her Easter dress resulted in a total meltdown and minus the belt on the dress. Once at the restaurant, before our food arrived, she sat on Duane's lap and colored with some crayons. She also colored on her dress, sweater and headband. We tried to do pictures once we got home but she wasn't in the mood.

After she changed into her comfy clothes, she felt more in the mood to go after the eggs in the backyard.

Olivia had lunch and then Grandma read to her before she fell alseep for her afternoon nap. I dropped my mom off at the airport and was able to read a little bit before Liv's nap ended. We took her to a couple parks tonight to burn off energy, had dinner, gave Liv a bath and then she played a little before bed. She found my shoes and loved walking around in them. I just wish they were heels instead of tennis shoes!

We hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend! We sure did! More fun things to come this week!
