Wisconsin Dells = FUN!

On Thursday afternoon, Duane, Olivia and I hit the road to Wisconsin Dells, WI. We were off to meet the Szafranski family for a long weekend of waterpark fun. Both families arrived around 4pm and were at the pool a little before 5pm! Dave, Julie, Kyle (4 years old) and Catie (2 years old) Szafranski are friends of ours from Chicago, IL.

Olivia seemed to really love the kiddie area. One little girl kept trying to play with her but Liv just stared at her and smiled. The little girl looked at me and said, "why is her belly so big?" I laughed out loud and said, "umm...because she likes to eat?" Haha! Kyle and Catie were all over the place and we were just trying to keep up. Liv seemed to like the wave pool, as long as Daddy was her raft!

That night we stayed at the pool until our pizzas were delivered to the room. Olivia was in bed around 8pm - and so were Duane and I! Haha...lights were out and the TV couldn't be on since Liv was asleep. I think we were both asleep around 9pm....pathetic!

Friday morning Duane and Dave picked up Dunkin' Doughnuts and then we were at the pool right when they opened - 9am. Julie and I agreed that one benefit to having kids that wake up early is that you beat the crowds. By about 10:30am, Olivia was yawning and took a little break on Duane.

After a short break and some puffs, Liv caught her second wind and we were back in the kiddie pool and slides. She loved only 1 slide and wouldn't try any others. We discovered she doesn't like water raining down on her head so that limited her in the types of pools she could play in.

After a quick, poolside lunch, it was naptime for the kids. Julie and I met up for a quick drink and it was so great to sit and catch up without having to chase around one of the kids! We all met up for an early dinner at Famous Dave's and then we were back at Great Wolf. We all took a quick family photo in the lobby of the hotel.

The Szafranki's headed back to the pool but we decided to have some ice cream in the lobby.

We tried to take Liv back to the pool but she wasn't having it. She and I headed back to the room, I read her some books and by 7:30pm, she was out for the night! Duane and I hung out with Julie and Dave until their kids went to bed.

Today we went to the pool again for a little bit before checkout. We asked Liv if she wanted to get in the pool and she shook her head no. Ha! She did get in, though, with Duane.

Everyone packed up their vehicles and then we headed to the Crocs outlet. All the kids got some Jibitz's and the mom's got some clothes at J.Crew. (that's fair, I think!) We all said good-bye and then the Szafranski's headed south/east and we headed north/west.

What a great spring trip we had! Thanks again, Julie and Dave, for asking us to meet you there!
