Yesterday we had Liv's "parent/teacher conference." For the toddler room, they schedule these during the kids' naptime; ours was from 1:45-2pm. Liv's teacher is GREAT and really talkative and at 2:15pm we were still in the room; sitting in the toddler chairs which was hilarious! Anyway, she was pointing at the artwork hanging on the walls and just as Duane turned to look, he and Liv locked eyes. She got off her cot and started to walk over to us and point at her locker, thinking it was time to go home. :( Poor thing! It was a tearful good-bye but Ms. Heather called later to tell me that a few Nilla Wafers, a cup of water and pencils and paper calmed her down right away. Duane was able to snap a photo of Liv napping - don't those cots look super uncomfortable?!

Olivia was given a really good review and everything is going well for her. Of course we think she's the smartest kid around, though! Her teacher did say that she picks up routines really well and puts away things when she's done with them....hmmm....I wonder where that comes from?!?! (her mother, of course!) She was also given a "promotion" by having her locker moved to the lower level so that she can get to her things. Ms. Heather said she does that for kids who can handle getting themselves ready to go outside. Love it!
One more development - Duane was able to negotiate with Olivia the other night. We had salmon patties, mac-n-cheese and peas for dinner and Liv was staying away from the salmon. She wanted more mac-n-cheese and peas so Duane told her, "Ok, but first you have to eat one piece of salmon." She looked at him, looked at her plate, looked back at him and then stuck a piece in her mouth! It was hilarious! So, we finished out dinner and her dessert of strawberries (5 to be exact!) by making that trade-off!
