Fun Saturday, Lazy Sunday

This past week was pretty crazy for me so Friday night was spent in my pj's and an early bedtime. The second I walked in the door, I put on my favorite flannel winter pj's and was totally lazy. I was even in  bed by about 9:15pm!

I continued being lazy and slept in until 8:15am when I heard, "mommy. wakey up!" I had just enough time to eat some cereal, put on some make-up and then I had to head to Shoreview Community Center to pick up Olivia from her swim lessons with Duane. Duane headed to the gym so I took Liv home. Technically I wasn't allowed to take photos but in my defense, I didn't know until some lady told me I missed the announcement last week. Apparently, you're not allowed to take any photos unless you get the "okay" from every parent in the class. Ugh, whatever.

We had lunch at home and then Liv had a bath. Right before lunch, Liv started singing her ABCs - or at least we can tell she's singing it. She is a bit better with the back half of the alphabet but it is the cutest thing when she starts singing!

While Liv took her nap, I went into work for a couple hours. The weather here on Saturday was terrible - raining/misting and cold. We didn't want to spend our whole day cooped up in the house so after Liv's nap, we headed out for an early dinner and went to the MN Children's Museum in St. Paul. Since winter is quickly approaching and being inside gets old, we bought a membership. I think we found the best time to go - around 6pm when everyone else is leaving. We had until 8pm and it wasn't too crowded. Liv loved it and it was so fun to watch her run from one thing to the next. There were a lot of older kids there so she stood around a lot and just stared. The best part that we found was the area that is built like a community - but at a child's level. Once Olivia found the baby in the doctor's office, she was sold - she carried her doll every where.

grocery store is behind us and it was SO cute!

This morning was our time to run errands so we had lunch at Taste of Scandinavia on our way home. Olivia loves that place because she gets Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes. We treated ourselves to pumpkin cookies and Liv pretty much ate all of Duane's. Lucky for him, I shared some of mine so he could actually have a sweet ending to his meal. Once home, Liv was tucked in for her afternoon nap and I actually took a nap, too. It.was.fantastic.

Duane cleaned up the yard a bit and I made homemade sweet-n-sour chicken for dinner. It was kind of a pain but it turned out really yummy. While the chicken was baking, I helped outside and our neighbor Jean took Liv for a walk around the block.

Well, another weekend has come and gone! I hope all of our readers have a great week!
